Inter defender Danilo D’Ambrosio believes that there is no question of the team having the quality necessary to get out of the difficult period of form in which they’ve started the season.
Speaking to InterTV ahead of this evening’s Serie A clash with Torino, the 34-year-old stressed that the Nerazzurri are strong enough to put their difficulties behind them, as they’ve shown with plenty of past performances.
Three wins and three losses from their opening six matches between Serie A and the Champions League has given rise to suggestions that Inter could already be in crisis just a month into their season.
The team will have to get back to winning ways very soon or else see their difficult situation deepen, but for his part D’Ambrosio has no doubt.
The defender has no illusion that getting back in form will be an easy task, but he is confident that they will be able to do so quickly.
Of this evening’s match he said that “It certainly won’t be an easy match and will be full of pitfalls, but I’m convinced we’ll overcome this period. We’ve already shown in the past that we’re strong and today we have to do so again.”
“Regardless of the opponent, you always have to give your best,” D’Ambrosio continued. “And this match will be unique because they play a particular style of football, marking man to man, individual duels, high tempo.”
“So if each of us wins our duel with an opponent, it means we’ll win,” he continued.
“The team, as I said before, is what’s needed to get past the difficult times and achieve our individual and collective goals,” he concluded. “Team spirit is an added value.”
