Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi is seriously considering regular rotation between Samir Handanovic and Andre Onana in goal given that both have impressed in recent outings.
This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that the coach could give both keepers opportunities rather than decisively settling on one or the other for the starting spot.
Captain Handanovic had been left out of the starting lineup against Bayern Munich during the week and watched on as Onana gave a very good account of himself on his first competitive appearance for the Nerazzurri, against one of the best teams in Europe no less.
However, the 37-year-old was immediately given the opportunity to prove himself with a start against Torino yesterday, and it was a chance that he grabbed with both hands as he was the team’s standout performer facing several tricky shots from the Granata.
Inzaghi has been very happy with what he has seen from both of his keepers, and could accordingly decide to alternate between them throughout the season.
