Inter and Juventus are interested in signing Benfica left-back Alex Grimaldo on a free transfer next summer.

This according to Italian news outlet Calciomercato.com, who report that the 26-year-old is a target for both the Nerazzurri and the Bianconeri, as well as Premier League teams Arsenal and Newcastle United, when his contract expires at the end of June 2023.

Grimaldo’s current deal with Benfica runs out at the end of the season, and given that he has not signed an extension with the Portuguese giants, a number of clubs are interested in signing him for free next summer.

Teams in the English top flight have been keen for some time, with Arsenal and Newcastle particularly interested, but Juventus have emerged as major suitors and have already begun the process of trying to sign him next summer.

Inter look to be joining the Bianconeri in the chase for Grimaldo, however, with CEO Beppe Marotta sensing a major free transfer opportunity to sign the Spaniard, who could potentially replace Robin Gosens if the German leaves the club.
