Inter wingback Denzel Dumfries was one of his team’s least effective performers in yesterday’s 1-0 Serie A win over Torino.
This is the consensus across Italian media, as highlighted by L’Interista, with the 26-year-old singled out for being some way from his best and not being able to exert much influence down his flank during his time on the pitch.
Dumfries was not the only player who got pressed out of the game at times during yesterday evening’s match as the Granata effectively marked man-to-man and Mergim Vojvoda kept the Dutchman quiet.
However, even by the standards of the team as a whole, the former PSV man looked uncomfortable with the level of pressure from Torino and offered next to nothing in attack, a rarity based on what’s come to be expected from him.
The Gazzetta dello Sport and the Corriere dello Sport gave Dumfries a grade of 5/10 in their player ratings for the match, whilst Tuttosport, TuttoMercatoWeb, and L’Interista went marginally higher to 5.5/10.
