Inter midfielder Marcelo Brozovic put a positive spin on what had been a scrappy performance by his standards with his well-taken late winner in yesterday evening’s 1-0 Serie A win over Torino.
This is the view in Italian media, with L’Interista highlighting the consensus that the 29-year-old had not been at his best but that his goal went some way towards redeeming his performance.
Brozovic struggled as much as any of his teammates with the pressure exerted by Torino, as the Croat was not able to dictate play in midfield as smoothly as he usually does under the stifling defensive work done by the Granata.
However, it was the 29-year-old who popped up in the box late on in the match to deftly put away a Nicolo Barella cross to seal the narrow victory.
The Gazzetta dello Sport and Tuttosport gave Brozovic a score of 6.5/10 in their player ratings for the match, whilst all of the Corriere dello Sport, TuttoMercatoWeb, and L’Interista went a greade higher to 7/10.
