Italian journalist Fabio Ravezzani feels that Inter are not performing up to expectations, and that it is reasonable to demand more from the team based on the quality that they possess.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, via FCInter1908, Ravezzani identified a lack of unity within the team as well as a lack of incisive play on the flanks as reason why the Nerazzurri have not been as good as they should be over the start to the season.

The amount of individual quality that’s in Inter’s squad is hardly a matter for debate, whilst they showed for much of last season that this can translate into high-level collective performances, on the way to a second-placed finish in Serie A as well as triumphs in the Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Italiana.

However, this season the quality within the team has only been seen in flashes, whilst they have looked disjointed and too easy for good opposition to put under pressure.

Ravezzani mused that “It’s been said that in Inter there’s no unity and there are fractures that need to be rebuilt. The team meeting this week confirms that there’s a grain of truth to that.”

Of the Nerazzurri’s match against Torino, he said that “We expect something more from Inter, to take more risks.”

“At the moment Inter are making little use of the flanks,” he added, “Dumfries isn’t at his best, Gosens is still misfiring for the moment. Then Inter will get back Lukaku, who’s practically been nonexistent so far.”
