Italian journalist Fabrizio Biasin believes that even thought Inter striker Lautaro Martinez did not get on the scoresheet in yesterday evening’s Serie A win over Torino, he did everything else to help lead the team to the result.
Reacting to the match in a tweet, Biasin praised the Argentine’s display, noting his industry and determination to unsettle the Granata backline in a match that needed a physical presence up front for the Nerazzurri.
Martinez didn’t have his shooting boots on against Torino, but the 25-year-old won several fouls, forced a corner out of the Granata, and generally made a nuisance of himself, particularly in the second half.
The Nerazzurri only managed to find a way through late on through an unlikely scorer in the form of midfielder Marcelo Brozovic, but Martinez had been doing everything he could to set the tone in the final third long before then.
Biasin tweeted, “When a centre forward runs out of steam, he rarely leaves his mark on a match. Today Lautaro did everything: he played the ball, he chased everything down, he played with energy and didn’t spare anything.”
“The difference between good and a great players can be seen here,” he added. “Bravissimo.”
