Swiss referee Sandro Scharer has been appointed to be in charge of Inter’s Champions League group stage clash away to Viktoria Plzen over the week.

This is confirmed by an official announcement from UEFA which reveals the officiating crews for all of the Champions League matches in this round of fixtures, including the Nerazzurri’s second group stage match on Wednesday.

Scharer will be assisted in his duties by the likes of Bekim Zogaj and Jonas Erni, whilst the role of fourth official will be filled by Lukas Fahndrich.

In the VAR booth, Fedayi San will oversee the match to ensure that any clear and obvious errors by the on-pitch officials are corrected, whilst Lionel Tschudi will assist him in his duties.

Inter will be hoping that the focus stays on the action on the pitch rather than on any refereeing controversies as they go in search of three points to bring their Champions League group stage campaign to life.
