Italian journalist Gigi Garanzini believes that Samir Handanovic was by far Inter’s best player in their Serie A win over Torino.

Writing in his column in today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper La Stampa, Garanzini gave a glowing review of the Nerazzurri captain’s performance against the Granata, noting that he faced quite a bit of pressure as the team allowed a lot defensively.,

Handanovic produced a number of eye-catching saves to bail his team out throughout the ninety minutes of their clash with Torino, making sure that they kept a clean sheet until they finally broke through with a winner late on in the match.

The Granata were bright in attack, wasting no time in taking advantage of any spaces that Inter gave them whenever they won the ball back, and it was only thanks to an excellent display by Handanovic that none of the half a dozen or so very dangerous moments actually turned into a goal.

Garanzini called the captain “The best player on the pitch by some distance, he saved everything he could from Vlasic, from Sanabria, from Radonjic who on at least 5-6 occasions got past the entire Nerazzurri defense at will.”
