Viktoria Plzen Under-19 head coach Ondrej Siml believes that his team will do better against their Inter counterparts tomorrow in the UEFA Youth League than they did when they faced Barcelona on Wednesday.
Speaking to his team’s official channel, as reported by FCInterNews, Siml identified the fact that the Czech team are playing at home and that they now have experience playing in Europe as reasons why his team can do better against the Nerazzurri than they had against the Blaugranas.
Siml saw his team fall to a 3-0 defeat in their clash with Barcelona’s Under-19 team prior to the senior teams meaning at the Camp Nou on Wednesday, whilst Inter’s Primavera team drew 2-2 against their Bayern counterparts before the Nerazzurri senior team’s loss to the German champions.
Once again, the youth teams of the teams will meet prior to kickoff in the senior Champions League matches, and Siml is confident that his team can bounce back from their opening day loss to Barcelona.
“The fact that we’re playing at home can certainly be an advantage for us,” he noted, “but what will help us even more is that this is the second European match and the guys already have experience in this competition now.”
“I think our performance will be better than that what we saw against Bayern,” he added. “We can’t wait for the match.”
