Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi has asked the team to show that they can maintain the level of performance they had against Torino in their last two matches before the international break.
This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the Nerazzurri coach wants his players to prove that even with many matches close together and the need to rotate the squad, they can maintain their solidity on the pitch and style of play.
Inter were not exactly sparkling against Torino over the weekend, but the team held together and particularly in the second half of the match pushed and started to finally control the tempo to find their winning goal against a tough opponent.
The coach will make a few changes to the lineup for this evening’s Champions League clash with Viktoria Plzen, and probably once again against Udinese in the Nerazzurri’s final Serie A match before the international break.
However, Inzgahi has made clear that he expects the kind of attitude and effort, as well as tactical coherency, that saw the team overcome the Granata, in both of these matches, so that some momentum can be built up rather than any positivity from Saturday’s win quickly dissipating.
