Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi is hoping that the team can continue the trend shown so far this season of being able to find the net through numerous different players in this evening’s Champions League clash with Viktoria Plzen.

Speaking to InterTV yesterday ahead of the group stage clash, the coach expressed the hope that the list of different goalscorers for the Nerazzurri this season, which is already at eight different players, can continue to grow.

The ability to score through players all through the squad and all through the pitch was a feature of Inter last season, and even though they have not yet reached the same goalscoring potency this time around, it has continued to be on show.

As expected, both Lautaro Martinez and Romelu Lukaku have been amongst the goals, as have their deputies Edin Dzeko and Joaquin Correa, but then so have midfielders Hakan Calhanoglu, Nicolo Barella, and Marcelo Brozovic as well as wingback Denzel Dumfries.

When this was pointed out, Inzaghi said that “We’re used to statistics like that, we try to bring everyone into the attack. Hopefully someone new will score so we can expand that list.”

Of this evening’s match, the coach said that “We arrive at tomorrow night’s match in good condition, it will be our third in six days and I will change the team up a bit. It will be challenging, they will create problems for us because they’re a physical team.”

“It will be necessary for us to match their physicality, they’re good on the break,” he said of the Czech team. “We have to prepare well, we’ve seen on the video how this team built their qualification campaign for the group stage on performances in this stadium.”
