Inter defender Federico Dimarco is not expecting this evening’s Champions League group stage clash with Viktoria Plzen to be straightforward by any means, but feels that the team must just focus on themselves.
Speaking to InterTV ahead of the match, the 24-year-old gave his thoughts ahead of the Nerazzurri’s second match of this season’s group stage, and stressed that the only thing the team can do is work to be at their best to try and get the necessary result.
Inter will feel that only three points can really be a satisfactory result from this evening’s match, considering they lost their group stage opener against Bayern Munich already and find themselves in a very tough group to navigate.
However, there is not much to do for the team besides focus on the task at hand, and Dimarco feels that they have prepared the way they have to to try and get the needed win from this evening’s match.
“It will be a difficult match, they’re an excellent team,” he said of this evening’s opposition. “We have to just think about ourselves.”
Asked if Saturday’s win over Torino was important for the team, he replied “Very much so, it was a tough match and a real team win. Tonight we have to bring it home with the same attitude.”
Dimarco added that “The Champions is one of the best competitions in the world. We have to think about winning and that’s it.”
