Inter defender Francesco Acerbi believes that the gap in quality between the Nerazzurri and Viktoria Plzen was very evidence in the 2-0 Champions League group stage win this evening.

Speaking to InterTV after the match, the 34-year-old gave the view that the difference between the two sides was very clear and that this was reflected in the comfortable win for the Nerazzurri.

Acerbi made his debut for Inter in a match where they will have felt that it was vital that they show their quality against a Plzen team who are tough and organized in spite of not having the technical quality of their rivals in the group.

The defender, on loan from Lazio, coped well at the back, whilst the Nerazzurri as a whole played a solid match to make sure that the home side were not able to really get their bearings and try to spring counterattacks, whilst they were well worth their two goals.

It was a good match, a good debut,” Acerbi said. “I’m happy to have played ninety minutes after I was out for a long time. Today it was important to bring home the win after the defeat against Bayern, and it will be important to win against Udinese before the break.”

“Tonight the difference between the two teams was evident,” he continued. “but they still played at home. They’re a physical team and they had nothing to lose. Maybe we could have managed it better, but the result was fair.”
