Inter midfielder Henrikh Mkhtiaryan feels that the team are all pushing in the same direction after their 2-0 victory over Viktoria Plzen in the Champions League.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia after the match, the Armenian stated that the Nerazzurri will throw everything they can at their group even in spite of having been handed a tough group containing Bayern Munich and Barcelona.

Inter have gotten a real foothold in their group by beating Plzen, having all but needed the three points after a disappointing start to their group stage campaign in losing 2-0 to Bayern last week.

The Nerazzurri didn’t push too hard for the result, but they showed their quality and kept the Czech champions quiet for much of the match whilst also creating enough chances to be good value for their 2-0 win in the end.

Mkhitaryan gave his thoughts on the win after the match, stating that “I want to thank my teammates and congratulate them, because the match wasn’t easy, but we did well.”

“We did well to score, and then after the sending off it was even easier,” he added. “We played well and won.”

The 33-year-old said that “This team is ready to play regularly, we’re all ready and we all help each other. There’s no difference in terms of the hierarchy, we’re all fighting for the same goals.”

“Compared to last season there haven’t been many changes,” he added. “The base is the same and everyone knows how to play.”
