Inter midfielder Marcelo Brozovic feels that the team showed that they had prepared well and done their homework with their composed 2-0 win over Viktoria Plzen in the Champions League group stage this evening.
Speaking to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia after the match, the Croat emphasized that the Nerazzurri knew exactly what they were up against in the form of the Czech champions, and that they put in the work to get their approach right.
Plzen put in a physical display, and they were committed to keeping their defensive organization, but the Nerazzurri put in a controlled performance in and out of possession to put their stamp on the match without overcommitting.
Brozovic was at the heart of everything good that the Nerazzurri did until he came off the pitch late on for Kristjan Asllani during the second half of the match, and the 29-year-old feels that they got it exactly right.
“We prepared well for this match,” the Croat said. “We knew that they played long balls to a tall and strong striker in front, but we prepared for it well and we won.”
“Now we have to try to win the rest of the matches, not just those against Viktoria Plzen,” he added. “The match against Barcelona will tell us a lot. Winning always helps, we have to continue like this, winning every game and moving forward.”
