Inter-Owned Striker Eddie Salcedo: “Simone Inzaghi Didn’t Want Me To Leave For Bari On Loan But We Managed To Convince Him”

Inter-owned striker Eddie Salcedo feels that being at Bari on loan is the right place for him to develop, and is glad that he convinced the club and coach Simone Inzaghi to sanction the move.

Speaking at his unveiling press conference, as reported by FCInterNews, the 20-year-old stated that Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi had not wanted him to make the switch, but that he wanted more playing time.

Salcedo made the move to Bari on loan over the last couple of days of the summer transfer window, having been linked with a number of teams including Udinese, Pisa, Standard Liege, and Real Valladolid but not actually made the switch to any of them.

The young striker could well have been a part of the attacking rotation at Inter, with solid depth needed given the amount of matches being faced by the team, but in the end he got a move away.

“Ausilio told me this was a possibility,” he said. “I was happy to come to Serie B, but Inzaghi didn’t want me to leave. Luckily we managed to convince him.”
