Legendary former Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio feels that sooner or later Inter coach Simone Inzaghi will have to make a final decision between Andre Onana and Samir Handanovic in goal.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Rai Radio, Marchisio emphasized that a choice as to the first-choice keeper will give stability to the Nerazzurri, who could otherwise risk not having any certainty behind their backline.

Inter look to have a bit of a dilemma in terms of the starting goalkeeping position, with Handanovic and Onana both having a convincing claim on the position based on their recent performances.

Inzaghi has given hints that he will alternated between the pair during the season, as both deserve playing time and he isn’t keen to have a situation where one player is purely the backup in the position.

However, Marchisio feels that this can cause problems for the team in terms of continuity.

“When you sign a goalkeeper from a top team, I think they tend to have to start,” he said. “But I don’t think Handanovic is also playing for it, I think that sooner or later Inzaghi will have to make a decision.”
