Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi feels that his team were more than good value for their 2-0 win over Viktoria Plzen in the Champions League.

Speaking to InterTV after the match, the coach praised his players for the work that they put in to secure a comfortable win over the Czech champions, and gave the view that they fully deserved the three points.

Inter didn’t necessarily put in their most frenetic or aesthetically pleasing performance against Plzen, but they largely nullified the opposition and were able to create quite a few scoring chances over the course of the ninety minutes to secure an important win.

Now, the Nerazzurri have a foothold in their group and have really kicked off their campaign to try and make it into the knockout stages of the competition, and Inzaghi feels that they fully deserve it for how they worked as a team and showed all their quality.

“The guys did well, we made match that wasn’t simple seem like it was,” he said. “We had to stay tidy and focused. The guys knew how to read the moments of the game, we controlled possession, we could have doubled our advantage sooner.”

Of the defensive effort, the coach said that “We conceded next to nothing, as I asked from the guys. Now we have our final challenge before the break on Sunday and we’ll try to win.”

He said that “The team looked good on the pitch, organized, and physically we’re growing. We have some strong players who are getting into top shape.”

“Everyone is involved, and everyone helps us out,” he added.
