Inter showed further progress in their 2-0 Champions League win over Viktoria Plzen yesterday, but they will face a more serious test of how much they’ve improved when they travel to face Udinese in Serie A this weekend.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who suggest that the Nerazzurri will have a clearer idea of how far they’ve come and how far they still have to go when they play against the Bianconeri on Sunday.

Inter can only beat what’s in front of them, and in this respect they did a good job to take three points, their first in their Champions League group, off of Viktoria Plzen.

However, the Czech champions were hardly the most difficult of opposition despite an organized and physical performance, and the feeling was that the Nerazzurri only did what they had to do without getting out of second gear.

Udinese look set to be more demanding opposition, as the Friulians are arguably the form team in all of Serie A after winning their last four matches, and if Inter can beat them then it would really be possible to talk about a recovery from their rough start to the season.
