Paris Saint-Germain are planning to reignite their interest in signing Inter defender Milan Skriniar as early as the January transfer window after an injury to defender Presnel Kimpembe.

This according to French news outlet L’Equipe, who report that the Parisians have decided to make returning for the Slovakian their main goal to reinforce the defense at the earliest possible opportunity rather than moving for a defender on a free transfer.

Kimpembe will be out for about six weeks after picking up a hamstring injury, leaving PSG’s defense in something of a crisis, especially considering they have been playing with a three-man defense this season under Christophe Galtier.

There were early suggestions that the Parisians could utilize the free transfer market to bolster their options at the back while the transfer window is closed, with former Lyon defender Jason Denayer among the players linked.

However, according to L’Equipe, the French champions are lukewarm on that option and prefer another attempt for Skriniar, with Sporting Advisor preparing to make yet another offer once the January transfer window opens.
