Legendary former Inter, Roma, Real Madrid, and Sampdoria forward Antonio Cassano feels that Inter got their win against Viktoria Plzen in the Champions League on Tuesday without having to ever get out of second gear.

Speaking on his Instagram story, via FCInter1908, the former forward characterized the Nerazzurri’s victory as a “nice light workout” without having been made to suffer by the Czech champions.

Inter will not have taken any result against Plzen for granted despite the difference in quality that exists between the two teams on paper, but the Czech team didn’t manage to create much in attack whilst the Nerazzurri were able to fashion more than enough chances to be worth their 2-0 margin of victory.

Some of this was down to the quality of Inter’s performance, although for Cassano, it was ultimately just not a hard match for the Nerazzurri, which was also the case with AC Milan’s win over Dinamo Zagreb.

“For both Inter and Milan it was a nice light workout, the Nerazzurri were never put under pressure against Viktoria and it was an easy win, whilst the Rossoneri managed a big success without any risks despite rotating the team significantly,” he said.
