Atalanta head coach Gian Piero Gasperini believes that Inter, AC Milan, and Napoli are the three teams who will fight for the Serie A title this season.

Speaking in a press conference ahead of tomorrow’s Serie A clash between his team and Roma, the coach gave his thoughts on the Scudetto race, suggesting that as with last season it will be the Rossoneri, the Nerazzurri, and the Partenopei who are the foremost contenders for the title.

Gasperini’s own team Atalanta can hardly be ruled out of the Scudetto picture given their impressive early form this campaign, whilst their Serie A opponents tomorrow Roma are also gaining momentum, and the likes of Juventus and Lazio also have the quality to potentially push for it.

However, as with last season it looks to be Milan and Napoli who have impressed the most in the early going, whilst Inter’s quality also makes them candidates.

Asked about the Scudetto race, Gasperini said that “In the immediate future, I’d say Napoli, Inter, and Milan are a little further ahead. Roma are a strong team who can think about competing too, though, they’re a team that can grow.”
