Striker Edin Dzeko never considered leaving Inter during the summer transfer window despite the interest of Juventus, and wants to help the team to the Serie A title this season.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the 36-year-old’s aims are clear as he chases his hundredth goal and looks to help the team to the results they need in this season’s long and gruelling title race.
Dzeko had been linked with the Bianconeri who were looking for a striker to replace Alvaro Morata, whilst a few other clubs had reportedly had some interest including Valencia and Borussia Dortmund.
However, the Bosnian never had any intention of leaving Inter after just one season, and he always wanted to see out at least the remaining year on his current deal, as he believes that the Scudetto is within reach.
Now, Dzeko is secure in his place with the Nerazzurri, and has repaid the team’s faith with a string of good performances early in the season which he hopes to build upon to become a real factor in the Scudetto race.
