Inter can extend the loan deal of striker Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea next season for a fee of around €10 million.

This according to Sky Sport Italia transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio, who reported live on air that the Nerazzurri should be able to agree another loan fee with the Blues in the same region as the one that they paid this season, and that there is a view to an eventual permanent transfer.

Inter were only able to sign Lukaku back on loan this season as Chelsea could not let him go for an amount any near small enough to be afforded by the Nerazzurri given their difficult financial situation.

However, as Di Marzio reports, the current Chelsea ownership led by Todd Boehly does not want to deal with the fact that Lukaku clearly prefers to be at Inter, and so sanctioned the move which his predecessor Roman Abramovich may not have.

This attitude is likely to hold for the foreseeable future even though the Blues sacked coach Thomas Tuchel and replaced him with Graham Potter, and in all likelihood the player’s desire to remain in Milan will lead to an agreement between the two clubs being found again next summer.
