Inter midfielder Nicolo Barella as well as defenders Alessandro Bastoni, Francesco Acerbi, and Federico Dimarco have all been called up for the Italian national team squad during the international break.
This is confirmed in a tweet from the Azzurri’s official Twitter account, where they list the Nerazzurri quartet among the 29-man squad selected by Roberto Mancini for Nations League clashes with Italy and Hungary.
Barella, Bastoni, and Acerbi were all part of the Italy side that won the Euros last summer, with Barella in particular becoming a key player in that team, whilst Dimarco made his Azzurri debut earlier this year off the back of his impressive performances with Inter last season.
All four have been included in the squad for this international break, suggesting that they are players who former Inter coach Mancini wants to put his trust in as he looks to steer the Azzurri past the setback of failing to qualify for the World Cup.
