The recent military strikes by Azerbaijan in regions of Armenia which are close to disputed border regions between the two countries has gained international attention over the past few weeks.
Inter midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan is Armenian, and has spoken up about issues affecting his home country in the past, and the 33-year-old used his Instagram account to raise awareness of the significance of the military attack by the Azerbaijani military.
Mkhitaryan shared the post a couple of days after the military attack began.
