Paris Saint-Germain Sporting Advisor Luis Campos admits that failure to sign defender Milan Skriniar from Inter was one disappointment for the French champions during the summer transfer window.

Speaking to French broadcaster RMC Sport, Campos stated that the Parisians had not completed the squad as they had hoped, making a clear reference to their failed pursuit of Skriniar, and also stated that they had been in talks for targets other than the Slovakian.

The transfer saga between Skriniar and PSG was one that dragged on until the very last day of the transfer window, although there were widespread reports that the Nerazzurri had all but taken him off the market before then.

The Parisians never gave up, as it was clear that the 27-year-old was their priority target to reinforce their backline for this season, but despite a pursuit that lasted weeks, were never able to convince Inter with the right offer at the right time.

“I’m not 100% satisfied with how the transfer window ended, we failed to get the right balance,” Campos said, adding that “Skriniar was not the only player we talked to, there were other targets as well.”
