Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi believes that the only thing for the team to do now is to show that they can bounce back from the start to the season they’ve had after the return from the international break.

Speaking to InterTV after the Nerazzurri’s Serie A loss to Udinese, the coach suggested that the defeat must be used as an opportunity to reflect on the reasons for their underperformance so that they can come back stronger on the other side of the break.

Inter will have two weeks before they can potentially react to this afternoon’s 3-1 loss to Udinese, which will feel like an eternity for the players, the fans, and perhaps most of all the coach.

Inzaghi will not have the period to work with many of his players who are away on international duty, but with those players he does have at his disposal during the two-week period, he will have to start addressing the fissures in the team which have now seen them lose four of their first eight matches in all competitions.

“Udinese deserved it,” he said, “they were more aggressive and determined than us. This is a defeat we have to reflect on, because we’re Inter and we certainly have to do better.”

“After the opener we started to get stretched on the pitch, Udinese were more intense, we got too many yellow cards, left too much space for the second balls and we were unable to regroup,” he assessed.

“Now we have to head into some important matches,” he added. “We know that Rome and Barcelona are important matches, after the break we will need to produce a response.”
