The decision of referee Paolo Valeri to issue a yellow card to Inter midfielder Marcelo Brozovic during the second half of the Nerazzurri’s Serie A clash with Udinese was an incorrect one in the view of Italian media.

This is the view of Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who highlight booking the Croat as the one major decision that the official had been wrong in making, as they suggest that the tackle was a foul but that a booking was harsh.

Brozovic’s booking is especially significant considering that it means that he will be absent from the Nerazzurri’s Serie A clash with Roma on the other side of the break through suspension considering it was the fifth yellow card that he’s picked up so far this season.

Brozovic attempted a slide tackle on Udinese midfielder Walace around ten minutes into the second half, and the 29-year-old was late to the ball but caught the player.

In the view of FCInterNews, there is little question that the challenge was a foul from the Nerazzurri midfielder, but that it was no more than that and the booking was harsh.
