Former Inter and current Udinese goalkeeper feels that it would not be quite accurate to say that the work done by Antonio Conte during the coach’s two seasons at the Nerazzurri has worn off.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, Padelli suggested that things are more complicated with the Nerazzurri’s early crisis in form this season than the team having just found themselves drifting away from the former coach’s influence.

Padelli had been at Inter through both seasons that Conte was in charge, which were intense years that saw the team shaped in the former Juventus and Chelsea and current Tottenham Hotspur coach’s image on the way to their first Serie A title win in eleven years.

Now Padelli is at Udinese, where he is the backup keeper to Marco Silvestri, and watched his team get a statement 3-1 victory over Inter, but he doesn’t think that it’s simply a matter of Conte being missed.

“I can’t say since then I left at the same time he left Inter,” the keeper said. “But he did well everywhere, at Inter his two seasons were very special years and, then it’s clear that each season is different from the one prior.”

He added that “The Nerazzurri are in a difficult moment of form, but they’re a great team and they’ll certainly recover.”
