Inter CEO Beppe Marotta and Sporting Director Piero Ausilio are monitoring young Barcelona wingback Alex Balde as a possible low-cost signing for next summer.

This according to Italian news outlet Calciomercato.com, who report that the Nerazzurri directors are considering a move for the 18-year-old next summer if he does not extend his contract past the end of June 2024.

Barcelona are trying to lock up Baldeā€™s future with a new contract, and have offered the Spaniard a new deal that would run until the end of June 2027, but so far he has not accepted their offer.

It remains to be seen if the Catalan giants will find an agreement with the 18-year-old or not, but if they fail to do so then his current contract will be going into its final season after next summer.

The Nerazzurri see Balde as a good fit at left-wingback, and would consider moving for him next summer if they can capitalize on his contract situation by convincing the Blaugranas to sell him for a relatively low fee.
