Former Inter midfielder Stephane Dalmat believes that Nerazzurri fans should rally behind coach Simone Inzaghi rather than giving up on him and hoping for his departure from the club.

Speaking in a video on his Instagram profile, Dalmat argued that Inzaghi has already proved himself at Inter enough that fans should not lose their faith and trust in him after just a few bad results at the start of the current season.

Inzaghi’s future has already become a subject for some speculation after the start to the season that the Nerazzurri have endured, with their 3-1 loss at the hands of Udinese perhaps the result to have raised the most serious doubts about his suitability to lead the team.

However, for his part Dalmat feels that the 46-year-old deserves much more credit than he’s being given and that fans must show that they back the coach rather than giving up so early.

He said, “We must not forget what Inzaghi did last season, even if he finished second and lost out on the Scudetto. He had lost Lukaku and Hakimi, and even without them he still had a good season.”

“Many people were happy with him,” Dalmat pointed out, “and yet today he is heavily criticized. The start of the season hasn’t been good, but we must have faith in him and not think about a change of coach. Inzaghi needs to be supported.”
