Former Inter striker Goran Pandev has said that he expected Inter to win easily with the return of Romelu Lukaku to the squad, according to a report in the Italian media today.

Speaking during an interview with Bologna-based newspaper Il Resto del Carlino, the former Inter striker spoke about how he thought Inter would fare with Romelu Lukaku coming back to the squad.

The Belgian signed on loan from Chelsea and it was assumed by many that he would hit the ground running but he struggled for form and has then been out with an injury.

This has surprised Goran Pandev who assumed that Inter would be winning games easily with the striker back in the team.

“I honestly didn’t think they would struggle so much, especially with Lukaku coming back: I thought they would win easily.

“For now I see Napoli as better than the others, but there are many who can win the Scudetto. Not only Milan, Inter and Juve. I also say Roma, who have strengthened and have Mourinho.”

A striker that has been very good this season is Marko Arnautovic. He was playing for Inter at the same time as Goran Pandev and he clearly has a lot of admiration for him.

“Very strong, I put him in the top five centre forwards in Serie A. He was also at Inter in 2010, he was a kid, but you could already see his quality and strength: he had a career below expectations.”
