Inter still harbour hopes of getting Stefan de Vrij to sign a new contract and then getting a transfer fee for him in a following transfer window, according to a report in the Italian media.
As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, there is a complicated situation regarding Stefan de Vrij right now as he is in a bad patch of form and he is going to be out of contract at the end of this season.
Inter signed him for free in 2018 which means that anything they can sell him for would be a good capital gain. That is why they were very willing to listen to offers for him in the summer when teams like Tottenham Hotspur were thinking of making a move for him.
The two parties are expected to meet in the coming months to discuss a renewal and Simone Inzaghi still hopes he can recapture his form.
