Italian journalist Xavier Jacobelli has said that questioning Inter coach Simone Inzaghi is madness amid the downturn in form, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media today.

Speaking during an interview with TMW Radio, via FCInter1908, Xavier Jacobelli offered his thoughts on Inter and whether they should be thinking about sacking Simone Inzaghi.

The Nerazzurri are not where they expected to be at this stage of the season and they have just been beaten by Udinese at the Dacia Arena by a 3-1 scoreline.

He stressed that there is a lot of improvement that needs to occur in the team but the solution to the recurrent situation is not to be sacking the coach.

“It’s a team that needs to tidy up its act, especially in defence where there is so much insecurity. Skriniar is not the same as last season, perhaps the market rumours have destabilised him a little, but Inter have lacked above all the physicality of Lukaku. And I would add: to question Inzaghi is madness.

There was a meeting on Thursday between Simone Inzaghi and the hierarchy at the club but it was not to discuss whether he is safe in his role, it was to talk about how improvements can be made.
