Former Napoli forward Gianfranco Zola has said that Inter are a mystery right now as they struggle in a poor patch of form, according to a report in the Italian print media.

Speaking during an interview with Il Messaggero, Gianfranco Zola talked about the current situation that Inter find themselves in where they have only got 12 points from their first seven games in Serie A.

The former Chelsea man explained that he cannot see how Romelu Lukaku’s injury has caused this drop in form because Edin Dzeko is still available and playing at a high level.

“Inzaghi’s team is another mystery. It was my favourite but cannot justify the problems with the absence of Lukaku because in his place there is Dzeko. Something doesn’t add up in the game plan.”

The Nerazzurri have got a tough resumption of the season after the international break because they will be facing AS Roma in Serie A on October 1 and then they will be welcoming Barcelona to San Siro for a Champions League group game in the following week.

Both games will be key in the season for different competitions.
