Intr may try to reduce Edin Dzeko’s salary if he is to sign a new contract with the club due to his age and involvement, according to a report in the Italian print media.

As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, the future of the Bosnian striker could start to become a pressing matter for Inter to make a decision over very soon.

He is going to be out of contract at the end of this season and there are a few different options available to the player and the club but all will require discussion and agreement.

The fact that he is 36 years old means that Inter are unwilling to offer him a contract on the same terms as the one he signed at the beginning of last season. They will have to see if he is willing to stay on reduced terms.

There is also the factor that he is of less importance to the team now that Romelu Lukaku is there.
