Former Inter defender Fulvio Collovati has said that the Serie A season is long but Inter are still in the title race with others, according to a report in the Italian print media.

Speaking during an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, Fulvio Collovati tried to play down the importance of both Inter and AC Milan’s slight dip in form that has seen both fall away from Napoli and Atalanta who are currently at the top of the table.

“‘If I had to choose a favourite today I would say Napoli. However, the championship is long and we can talk about Napoli, Milan and Inter.

“I think the real crisis is that of Juve, a different situation compared to Inter. There are too many problems, too many difficulties, it’s not a question of points.”

Inter are five points adrift of the top whereas AC Milan are three points adrift. As Fulvio Collovati explained, it is Juventus who seem to be in more of a dire situation as they had a busy summer yet are two points further back than Inter and have lost their first two Champions League group matches.

Inter will be facing AS Roma and Barcelona in quick succession after the break.
