Inter have thanked Goran Pandev for his service to the club after the Macedonian forward announced his retirement from professional football on Thursday.

The 39-year-old was signed by Inter when he was just 18 years old and he had loan spells at Ancona and Spezia before being sold to Lazio. He then came back in 2009 and made nearly 50 appearances for the Nerazzurri.

He later moved on to Napoli, Galatasaray and then had spells at Genoa and Parma.

Inter said: “From the Primavera to the top of the world. Thanks for everything.”
