Inter midfielder Marcelo Brozovic was substituted in the first half of Croatia’s match against Austria with a thigh injury, according to a report in the Italian media.

As has been reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, the midfielder only lasted 17 minutes in Vienna as he suffered a muscle problem in his thigh.

He slipped during the game and then remained on the ground in pain. He is absent from the Serie A clash against AS Roma anyway but now there is concern over his ability to play in the Champions League match the following week against Barcelona.

He had to be helped off the pitch by the medical staff and now he will have to undergo tests on Monday in Croatia to see what the extent of the injury is.

Inter fear that it is a muscle strain which will keep him out for at least a few weeks but the tests will give the answer.
