Inter midfielder Kristjan Asllani is set to step up and try to lead the Nerazzurri midfield in the absence of others, according to a report in the Italian media today.
As has been reported by Corriere dello Sport, the Albanian midfielder is expected to take the place of Marcelo Brozovic in the centre of the midfield three as the Croatian is suspended for the clash.
As well as his absence, there is the fact that Hakan Calhanoglu has been inconsistent this season and also may not be fit to start the game.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan is still struggling physically to take a game by the scruff of the neck and Roberto Gagliardini has not been able to take any of the chances that have come his way from Simone Inzaghi.
That means that the stage is set for the former Empoli star to have his first big performance in an Inter shirt.
