Inter midfielder Marcelo Brozovic is set to be out for a few weeks after suffering a thigh injury whilst on international duty with the Croatian national team.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that medical tests in Zagreb have confirmed an injury to the 29-year-old’s left thigh and that a more precise timeline will be revealed in subsequent tests with the Nerazzurri’s medical staff.

Brozovic had to leave the pitch in the 18th minute of Croatia’s Nations League clash with Austria, with the midfielder showing visible discomfort to his thigh area.

The 29-year-old underwent initial medical exams today in Zagreb, which have confirmed that he suffered a problem to his thigh and that the injury should be serious enough to rule him out for a few weeks.

When Brozovic returns to Milan he will undergo further tests on his condition with the Nerazzurri’s medical staff, which should provide further details regarding when he would be able to return.
