Chelsea are continuing to target Inter wingback Denzel Dumfries and could try to sign him as early as January in view of the start of the 2023-24 season.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the Dutchman remains a major target for the Blues for next campaign, and that Inter are considering Torino’s Wilfried Singo as a possible replacement if he is to leave.

Chelsea had been interested in signing Dumfries during the summer transfer window but in the end the 26-year-old remained at Inter.

However, the Premier League giants’ interest in the former PSV wingback has hardly diminished, and he is a player who they are hoping to be able to sign for next season.

The London-based club’s idea could be to agree a deal in January and then loan Dumfries back to the Nerazzurri, whilst Inter are monitoring Singo as a potential like-for-like replacement.
