Inter defender Milan Skriniar feels that he has a strong relationship with fans of the Nerazzurri, who understand that he has always been fully committed and given his all for the team.

Speaking to former midfielder Borja Valero for Italian broadcaster DAZN, as reported by FCInterNews, the 27-year-old gave a few thoughts regarding his status at the club and relationship with the fans.

Skriniar stayed at Inter this summer despite strong transfer rumours linking him with Paris Saint-Germain, and this was a relief for many fans not just because of his quality on the pitch, but also because of what he represents within the squad.

The Slovakian has gained a reputation for his leadership on the pitch as well as for always playing with total physical commitment to try and keep a clean sheet for the team, and this has led to many fans viewing him as a prime candidate to replace Samir Handanovic as captain.

“From the very start I immediately tried to give my best for this team and for these colours,” he reflected, “I try to help my teammates and fight for every ball as I’ve always done.”

“Perhaps it’s for this reason that the fans seem to love me,” he continued. “I have a wonderful relationship with them and I want to thank them for that, it’s great when a player has such a good relationship with the fans.”
