Inter striker Romelu Lukaku is not likely to be fit enough to start for the Nerazzurri in their Serie A clash with Roma on the other side of the international break.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, who report that the 29-year-old’s recovery will not likely to be far enough along for him to be deemed to be fit to start against the Giallorossi even if he will be very close.

Lukaku has been working over the international break to put a thigh strain behind him, with the muscle problem having already caused the Belgian to miss out on the six matches before the break between the league and the Champions League, as well as his national team’s fixtures during the break.

The hope has been that the former Everton and Manchester United striker would be ready to start against the Giallorossi on Saturday, but this does not look likely.
