Francesco Acerbi and Federico Dimarco are expected to beat Stefan de Vrij and Robin Gosens to starting places for Inter against AS Roma on Saturday evening, according to a report in the Italian media.
As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, the two Italian defenders are set to be rewarded for their good form with both club and country by Simone Inzaghi.
Francesco Acerbi and Federico Dimarco were both singled out for a lot of praise for their role in Italy’s 1-0 win over England last week in the UEFA Nations League. They have also put in better Inter performances than many of their teammates this season.
Stefan de Vrij and Robin Gosens have been two of the major individual disappointments so far this season and the coach has decided to act on that by giving other players a chance to impress in a big game in their positions.
