Inter and AC Milan are hoping that they will be in the new stadium by the 2027/28 season if all goes to plan, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, various details are beginning to come from the public debate that is finally ongoing on the new stadium.

One of the major talking points is when the clubs will be able to play in the stadium. The ceremony of the 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics is going to take place at the current San Siro but the new stadium will be built alongside it.

The clubs, therefore, hope that there will be no more construction going on by the 2027/28 season with the old stadium fully demolished.

It also seems that the new stadium may be more of an oval than the expected square shape. The capacity will be 65,000 with 9,000 of those being executive seats.
