Hakan Calhanoglu and Henrikh Mkhitaryan are set to battle it out for a starting place in the Inter midfield against AS Roma, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media.

As has been reported by Sky Sport Italia, via FCInternews, the final major decision that seems left to be made by Simone Inzaghi for the AS Roma match is who will play on the left of the midfield three.

Nicolo Barella is set to take up his usual space on the right and Kristjan Asllani will be making his first Inter start in the middle to replace the injured Marcelo Brozovic, as was confirmed by the coach in his press conference.

That leaves the place on the left that would normally be taken by Hakan Calhanoglu but he is only just coming back from injury and there is the Barcelona match on Tuesday to consider.

That means he may start with Henrikh Mkhitaryan instead.
