Federico Dimarco will start for Inter in this evening’s Serie A clash with Roma, but Robin Gosens could be back in the team on the left for Tuesday’s Champions League group stage clash with Barcelona.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who also report that Stefan de Vrij is the favourite to be in the starting lineup against the Giallorossi, and that Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Hakan Calhanoglu will play for a place in the starting eleven.

Inter have not yet really settled on a first-choice option on the left this season to replace the departed Ivan Perisic, with all of Dimarco, Gosens, and Matteo Darmian having played a decent amount of minutes in the role without really nailing down their place.

However, Dimarco’s outstanding form with the Italian national team over the break makes him a prime candidate for the role, although Gosens could then be given an opportunity to prove himself against the Blaugranas.

Meanwhile, Tuttosport report that de Vrij should see off the competition of Francesco Acerbi, who impressed against Viktoria Plzen and Udinese, to start at the heart of the back three.
